Following the official announcement on January 14, 2023, this news shocked many fans both domestically and internationally as the team recently won third place at PMGC 2022 (PUBG Mobile Global Championship 2022), presenting themselves as one of the best teams in the world.
Alpha7 announced Carrilho’s passing on their official social media channels
“We came through this, to announce the departure of Lucas “Carrilho” Miguel, who is no longer part of the PUBG Mobile team from Alpha 7 for 2023. The player and the organization reached an agreement amicably and considered the best way out, the team’s dismissal.”
Directly addressing the player himself, the organization added
“We would like to thank you for the services provided to Alpha7. It took two years to work uninterruptedly and conquer important titles such as the PMPL Brazil and the Americas, in addition to the PMWI and the dispute of two consecutive world championships. Thanks Carrilho! We wish you much success in your career. Thank you Captain!”
Carrilho’s PUBG Mobile esports journey so far
The 19-year-old star Carrilho is considered one of the top PUBG Mobile athletes in the world after proving himself over the years at several major tournaments. In the last three years, he has won many individual awards.
He started his career with Loops Esports in August 2019. In 2020, representing Loops e-Sports, Carrilho won his first international title, Pubg Mobile Pro League – Americans Season 1 and also the title First and foremost personal brand up to that point: MVP of the contest and earned $3,000. That same year, he participated in the first world championship and took second place.
Also, he helped the Brazilian organization win 12 events, including PMCO and PMPL Americas. After some tense situations with his teammates during PMGC 2020, he left the team to join Alpha7 on January 6, 2021.
His addition to the squad proved hugely beneficial for the organization as they won 13 of the 18 tournaments they played in 2021. His best year was in 2021, when he joined Alpha7 e-Sports and together won several titles. Among them was the PUBG Mobile World Invitational, becoming the first Brazilian along with his companions to win the PUBG Mobile world title.
Some of the most notable events beyond the PUBG Mobile World Invitational 2021 West are PMPL Americas Season 2. The team achieved fourth place in the 2021 PMGC Tournament Stage and secured ninth place in the Grand Finals event.
The team in 2022
Although this talented Brazilian team didn’t win any major titles in 2022, it was still a pretty good year for the team, finishing second in both their Spring and Fall seasons Americas Championship. They also won the runner-up position in the PUBG Mobile World Invitational (PMWI): After Party season.
Not only that, but their impressive third place at the recently held PMGC 2022 Finals proves once again why the Brazilian team is considered one of the best in the world, with Carrilho playing an important role in achieving it. Such a talented player! It will certainly be interesting to see which team he will join for the upcoming 2023 season. Let’s look forward to the strong return of Carrilho in the new team shirt!
